Professor Robert Danisch expresses the need to teach students to know how to create change in the world and not just to criticize their environment.

I want to practice this in my Collaborative Workshop class. In this class, students explore and identify an issue in the world, ranging from societal, environmental, technological, and more. They’re also given a challenge from an industry partner. They already work towards finding a solution, but I feel like there is more I can do to really instill in them that their work can bring change. Oftentimes, their work seems ideological. They create work without the constraints of time and money that is required to develop it.

How can I close that gap?
